See? I'm not the only one! I posted a page of my notes from Rumors awhile back. I have swirls of notes like this for all of my books. Each time I start a new novel, I promise myself that I will get organized. That I will use folders. Or binders. Or something with tabs. Instead, I have pages and pages of notes that tie themselves up in knots. (Oh, my god. I just realized. Even my scribbles are into bondage!) The notes above are from Rachel Kramer Bussel. All right. So they're much neater than mine. But she writes on diagonal and circles things, and abbreviates. I just love that. Here's the deal this weekend. I'm trying to get some new pictures up on my Panty Parade! I'm in love with the two new ones I have to post. I am also sending out the Grammar buttons. I'm reminding people to vote in my Mustache contest and enter my Touch Yourself contest. (Should I start making you all a laundry list? Heh heh.) I have a fabulous bookend sort of idea for the next contest. I'm so excited! I wish I'd thought of this one first.
And if you were so inclined, why not send me a page of your notes to post? I'm such a voyeur. You know me. I'd like to learn how everyone else works. How they think. What they eat for breakfast. Why they like to wear shoes that lace or shoes that slip on. I'm strange like that. Tiny details thrill me. If you're brave, scan a page and send it to msalisontyler at yahoo dot com. Or post a page on your own blog and let me know. I'll link.
Oh, and enough people wrote me behind the scenes and asked—so I thought I'd spill. Why did my friend send me those fabulous fucking boots? Because I edited a manuscript of hers, and pointed her in the direction of a publisher. This was not a sex book. My ties with non-fiction are much stronger than fiction. So she got a deal, and this was her thanks. I've said before, and this is really true. There are people who will help you and people who will not. I've had enough people reach out a hand to me and try to pull me up (in porn and out) that whenever I can, I try to do the same.
And what did my neighbor do? Broke up a marriage. Sure, she wasn't the only one involved. But I watched her. And I know what she did. And I have to think to myself: what goes around, comes around. I just hope her round comes soon.
XXX,
Alison
