...a dog breeder. Or a member of parliament. Or a hip fashion journalist living in the UK. But most notably, I am not the *other* Alison Tyler, romance writer, who wrote books before me. Yeah, we have the same name. But those Candlelight Romances that came out in the early 80s were written when I was still playing Spin the Bottle. You know?
Anyway, the query that started this post totally cracked me up:
Not to sound totally stalkerish because that's not what I'm doing, but I was bored and diving deep in your Amazon store and opened up some of those Candlelight novels that are buried behind your erotica. I've always been curious about them! Stuff from the early 80s when you would have been like a kid! Somewhere in Googleland, I got connected with the name Elise Title, where I found some interesting thrillers that might be fun to read. Then I was finding your erotica titles attached to this name, making you around 66 years old, a retired psychotherapist living back east, which totally conflicts with the hot California chick in teen goth, cuffs, bent over the lap of her equally hot man, so now my head is like totally exploding!
Are there perhaps two of you?? Feel totally free to tell me to mind my own business, but it just got weird for me...
Of course, it must be equally weird for Elise Title to have my dark, erotic, bondage novels out under her name, too. But yeah—she's older then my folks. We are two different writers with massively different styles. (Amazon will not let me remove those titles from my page, either. I've tried repeatedly.)
Thanks for asking! I wonder who else I'm not...
XXX,
Alison

Amazon won't let you remove the titles?? Wtf?
hahahahaha - I be most of us would find someone who has the same name but is NOT us in so many ways!
Yeah, Jo. I didn't actually put that Amazon Author page together. I think a robot at Amazon Central did.
I have an email into the powers that be, though, to ask how to delete titles from your bibliography. You'd think this would happen a lot—you know?
And Erobintica—I think there are many people who have doubles or triples. Once, I sent an acceptance to a Kate Pearce who wasn't the Kate Pearce I thought it was!
XXX,
AT
Perhaps that was a wonderful awakening for the mystery Kate Pearce.
I once got a stroppy and hysterical mail from someone by the same name as my cousin, after I'd been mailing her for AGES, all 'I don't know you! Quit mailing me!' Jeeze, how hard would it have been to just tell me the first time and avoid all the stress.
Anyway, chances are the other AT is very proud :)
