Pessimism Hasn't Failed Me Yet

Okay, so remember when I said I was going to be an Optimist? Like, eight days ago? Well, I was talking with Georgia about things we like. And I said I was dreaming about the tuxedo-style shirt from the Gap done in Buffalo plaid. Why? Because back in the day I had a scarlet buffalo-plaid dress from Contempo. (Do you all remember Contempo?) I fucking loved that dress, and I've spent years looking for the sequel.

But I said to Georgia, since this shirt was from the Gap—and obviously mass-produced—I would undoubtedly run into someone I didn't like wearing the same shirt.

Georgia said, "You know, if someone else had the same taste as me, I would think I'd *like* the person."

I died laughing. Why didn't I think of that? You can take my Optimism card away from me now.

XXX,
Alison

Do you know the difference between an optimist and a pessimist? A pessimist is better informed.
