Happens to the best of us...
In an orgy scene I was working on this morning, I realized that I'd scrambled the characters' names. What does this mean in plain, old-fashioned English? Well, when I re-read the scene I saw that the woman on the sofa was busy eating her own pussy. And yes, of course, I *know* there are contortionists in the world. But she was not one of them. I'd simply forgotten who I was writing about in and among the overlapping bodies.
A few weeks ago, I edited a story in which a character put her own foot in her mouth. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I mean, I put my foot in my own mouth all the fucking time. Except she meant to (or the writer meant for her to) suck her girlfriend's toes.
Thank god for second drafts!
XXX,
Alison

Giggling at the foot-in-own-mouth image. I have a bad habit of messing up the gender pronouns. Leads to the same kind of confusion, and can be oh-so-difficult to sort out in the editing process.
Lol! I ended up with a character fucking herself from a dildo once. Not impossible, but not what I meant to write. I find scenes with same sex characters a bit trickier that way since there's a lot of 'she' and 'her'.
