"Alison Tyler Asked Asshole"

I was searching for something completely different, and came upon a feature in Google Books that will list common terms and phrases in a piece of work. How terrifying is that? I then devoted way too much of my morning investigating.

For Giving In, the ones listed were:

Alison Tyler asked asshole bedroom began behave best friend blow Bonnie Bonnie’s breath butt plug caviar champagne cheeks chef clamps clit cock couldn’t didn’t know different in Venice dinner dirty door Ellis everything eyes face fairy fantasies feel felt filmy fingers girl glass going to fuck guest hadn’t hair hallway hard he’d He’s head inside iPod Joyce’s kink kissed knew licked lips looked Lou and Sasha Lou’s mirror moaned mouth moved never nodded opened previous night punish pussy realized respond rhinestone Sasha described Sasha’s room sex toy shoulder sighed skin skirt slid smiled someone sounds spanking spoke the words stared started stay Stefan led Stefan seemed stood stop stories stroke sucked surreal talk tell They’re thighs thought told took turned Uncle Stefan villa waiting walked wanted wasn’t watched we’d what’s wished wondered worry wrists write You’re

For Cuffing Kate, the list was:

I love Let's licking limber lips look.

I have a friend who took at class at San Francisco State with the writer Dodie Bellamy. The students created pieces of work by merging three previously written stories by other authors with one piece of their own writing. (It was a jigsaw-puzzle of the used and the new.) This is reminiscent to me of her Cunt-Ups.

And speaking of merging works, thank you for all the Bondage Bites! I will be posting the list soon, as well as asking for new bites on a different theme.

XXX,
Alison

P.S. I am surprised—and a bit relieved—not to see my standard five-dollar words on the lists. And I wish I could capture the way the Google search shows the words—with some much larger than others based on amount of use.

I've probably mentioned this before, but there's a scene in the David Lodge book "Small World" in which one character uses a computer to analyze another character's writing. The writer's word of choice is "grease."

This scene appeals to a lot of writers. See?

Oh, how do I find that? I want to throw my book through it and see what I'm obsessed with.

And I love this type of analysis on books.
