Remember when I told you about my next big thing? Well, the title has gotten a facelift, and the cover has stolen my heart. I am head over high-heels in love! This was the title I wanted for my very first novel, seventeen thousand years ago. The line is from a William Blake poem. Let's see if I still have the whole thing memorized:O Rose thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:
Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark, secret love
Does thy life destroy.
Ta da! I'm so proud of myself. This title has been folded over and carried in my back pocket for decades now, and I'm overjoyed that Cleis Press has given me the green light. Fucking gorgeous, yes?
XXX,
Alison
