Break the Rules
Just don't break *my* rules.
I promised a new call for submissions, and even though I'm stepping on my old call's toes, I'm going to go ahead. My next collection will be sex-at-work stories. Oh, I know. I was asking for those a few months back. But this is different. Trust me. This time around, I'm looking for sex on the job. (Pick a job, any job.) You don't have to write in the POV of either character—and the piece does *not* have to be in the first person. So basically, this call is a lot less restrictive than my last one was. To all of us.
Believe it or not, I have several stories already slotted into the TOC (yes, this means I'm slightly ahead, believe it or not), so please check in at msalisontyler at yahoo dot com with your dream occupation to make sure you won't be overlapping.
Deadline: June 1
Length: 2,000-3,500 (Give or take. I do yoga. I'm flexible.)
Payment: $75 (I prefer to pay via Paypal. When I pay via Paypal, the company takes out a small fee—2.9% + .30, or about $2.5—because this is a business transaction. I think this is fair based on the convenience. You get your money immediately, and I don't have to stand in the line at the post office dicking around with money orders.)
No-nos: No underage. No incest. No bestiality. No non-consensual. No judgment, but I don't accept stories that are bleak, hopeless, or fundamentally depressing. I mean, I accept that they exist, but I won't buy them for my books. If you're not sure what that means, check out some of my collections first.
Yes-yeses: I welcome fetishes, BDSM, kink, lesbian, gay, straight, transgender, spanking, sex toys.... If you have a query or concern, contact me.
Please, please, please do not embed anything into a header or a footer. But *do* put your name on the first page of your story. Do not send me a file that was marked up using "Track Changes." (Fuck me, but I don't know how to get rid of those.) And don't add a whole lot of spaces at the top of the first page. Don't add extra breaks between your paragraphs or use odd tabs. I prefer double quotation marks instead of single (because two is better than one), and if possible, please send me US spellings of words.
Finally, I try not to overwhelm writers with minutiae, but I've seen quite a few pieces lately about overworked or overstressed parents who need to get a break from the kids. This may be true. But I won't buy the stories for my books.
