Smut Marathon II

An ice age ago—or really in 2010/2011—I developed and ran a contest called The Smut Marathon. We began with 15 (I think) writers. Each month (or so) I tossed out a writing challenge. The writers all subbed their pieces by a set deadline, I posted the submissions with a poll, one writer would win each round and one would be out. We reduced down to three finalists who battled for the top spot.

I will admit that I had no idea what I was doing. Truly. I ran the whole thing by the seat of my well-worn Levis. But I've had interest now in a second round, and I am seriously crazy. I mean, seriously considering doing the whole thing again.

What I need to know is whether you—sweet writers—are interested. And if so, how many of you want to come play with me. I promise to try to be more organized. Meaning, I would like to toss out the topic at the start of the month, give three weeks for writing, have one week for voting, and then move onto the next topic. The prompts will be short—I'll ask for pieces between 100 and 500 words max until the last round.

There will be prizes throughout.

What else?

Oh, you own your writing. But I will ask that everyone signs something that allows me to publish the pieces on the blog.

You have to abide by my standard guidelines regarding what I will publish in my books or on my blog. Basically, you and your characters must be 18 or over. No incest, non-consensual sex, bestiality—or all three combined.

Drop me a note at msalisontyler at yahoo dot com if you want to run away and join the circus.

I absolutely do not have the time for this! Nope, not me, I am not going to be tempted... although, it kinda sounds like fun and a challenge and both of those things tend to grab my attention so.... Oh go on then!

Tempting... very tempting...

Since I really want to start getting my writing 'career' started, I might just as well start learning how to work with deadlines.

Count me in too... email is on its way.
