A Random Kiss #2

Kissing is such sweet sorrow. No, wait. That's parting, right? Kissing isn't sorrowful at all. I love kissing. Last week, I kissed Molly Moore in my first ever Random Kiss post. This week, I am going to kiss Violet Blue because hey... she wrote the book on kissing.

I mean, come on. How cool is that?

Violet is the curator of the Best Women's Erotica series. She recently wrote the Smart Girl's Guide to Privacy. And she is the author of a slew of super-fine sex manuals, including:

Fetish Sex: An Erotic Guide for Couples—which received a divine review stating, "It is enlightening and humorous, while remaining very informative. It is also incredibly well written."
The Adventurous Couple's Guide to Strap-on Sex.
The Ultimate Guide to Fellatiowatch the book trailer!
The Ultimate Guide to Sexual Fantasy—listed in the Popular How-to Guides on Good Reads.
The Ultimate Guide to Cunnilingus—check out this fabulous 5-star review!
The Adventurous Couple's Guide to Sex Toys.

Violet also pretty much invented the genre of couple's erotica collections with the best-selling collection Sweet Life—which is a beautiful anthology from the inside out. She followed up with her tantalizing Taboo, delved into one-night stands with One Night Only, and sweetened everyone's day with Lips Like Sugar.

She speaks the language of technology fluently, and I follow along as best I can, learning new words all the time. She breaks news stories, is fearless in the face of media giants, and has your back every step of the way.

On her website, www.tinynibbles.com, she champions intelligent erotica and presents the very best in what she calls "eye candy," but what I call "story starters." She is so proudly NSFW, she made stickers to prove it!

Thomas Roche courteously made the introductions for us more than a decade ago (can that be right?), and I am so fucking grateful.

With a brilliant wit, a wicked sense of humor, the best hair, a flair for the romantic, a superhero's sense of justice, and a love of the most unique gadgets, Violet is my hero in multiple o's. I mean, ways.

So there you have it. A completely random kiss to Miss Violet Blue!

P.S. The first five people to comment will win a free book edited by Violet!

Violet does have a really unique voice...so reassuring as a teacher, yet keeping in the "naughty" as she takes out the "wrong"! Pretty cool...

Thanks a lot Alison. You just added about fifteen new things to my TBR list. I think I need to come down with a near-fatal disease in order to get the whole list done (being cured just in time of course - at the end of the list :P) No seriously, I don't wish that on myself. Just wish I had a lot more time to read.

I do feel so thoroughly kissed after last weeks post... I even seem to have some smudged lipstick ;)

And now it is VB's turn, someone who not only writes and edits great erotica but also is a constant source for my geek needs as well

This book sounds awesome! I'm going to check it out right now. I have a copy of a very old book on kissing (pubbed in Victorian times). Will be interesting (and probably a hoot!) to compare how examples and times have changed.

I agree with you in so many ways about Violet - she expands my vocabulary, gets me fired up about things I didn't even know about (ahem, Ada initiative), and has me longing to go places I've never even heard if (HITB)... Both of you make my life a whole lot better, that's for sure! (Sorry for the gushing, but it's all true)

I liked the way she took on Google over their stupid real names policy.

Violet Blue is the wise, confident, multi-talented older sister I never had. Her podcasts are PHENOMENAL, and I'm excited to learn she's authored so many books.

Great write up of Ms. Blue, and all she does.
