The Happy Hooker x Two

I'd say crocheting keeps me sane, but that might be a stretch. So I'll say that crocheting keeps me saner. Whether I'm creating full-sized scarves (occasionally 10 feet long!) or miniatures for wee stylish mice, I always have a hook nearby. Usually, two or three. I feel naked without my back-up hooks.

Currently, at the $40 level on Patreon, I will crochet you a scarf, hat, or fingerless gloves. If you want a matching for your miniature, let me know. My latest favorite yarn is Baby Alpaca. So super soft that strangers have been inclined to try to pet me (which is, obviously, fodder for a different type of story).

I recently landed on a site called Wool and the Gang. (How clever is that?) I want everything on this site, especially the jersey yarn and the denim yarn. I've never crocheted with denim before, but as I live in jeans, this seems a logical next stitch.

My latest phase is to crochet whilst walking. It seems everyone is walking while device-ing. I can crochet without looking, so why not?

Although more people incorrectly assume I'm knitting, there are apparently 3 crocheters for every 1 knitter. I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was five, but I have never read patterns. This year, I have two books on my TBR list:

The Happy Hooker & The Happy Hooker

Maybe I'll bring both to a cafe with me and see what sort of attention I'll win!

Alison
